Alexandra Raisman
Aly Raisman was a U.S. Olympic captain for the team that took home gold in the year 2012. Six of her Olympic gold medals comprise of a record-breaking total. In addition, she was one of the two World Champion teams. A native of Needham, Massachusetts, Aly's love for the sport can be traced back to a "mommy & me" gymnastics class she attended when she was just 18 months old. Aly has been an active proponent of body positivity and is an active leader as well as a participant on the floor. She recently spoke out on Larry Nassar's sentencing. Aly Raisman, born in 1994, started gymnastics as a young child and contributed to helping the U.S. team to win the 2011 World Championships. Following that she won two gold medals - one for the team competition and another in the single floor workout--along with a bronze in the beam competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Raisman was awarded silver medals in both the individual and floor finals at the 2016 Olympics at Rio. She also took home a gold medal during the competition for team gymnastics. In 2017, Raisman revealed she had suffered sexual assault at the hands of former team doctor Larry Nassar, and the following year she brought a suit against USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic Committee.
